Richard started out training roping horses and has been training ranch horses for 25 years. For the last 5 years he has focused his efforts in Ranch Sorting and Team Penning.  Richard won the first go in the Open Ranch Sorting Class at the 2007 USTPA National Finals with a 38.51 second run and has qualified for the USTPA Team Penning World Championship. He has also ran cattle operations and helped to train people with their horses. He holds sorting clinics at his barn in Childress and will also give individual lessons if needed.
