| Congratulations to Blaine Ellis, one of our local own. Blaine had a successful year last year in the event of Ranch Sorting. Blaine and his horse "Lenas Bandy Boon", aka "Newt", competed in the monthly series with the Family Ranch Sorting Association in Amarillo. Blaine won the yearly point series and was awarded a high point saddle. Ranch sorting is a timed sorting event that the whole family can enjoy. Family Ranch Sorting Association is located in the Texas Panhandle at Lavas Terra Firma Arena on 14500 S. FM 1258 in Amarillo, Texas (Just 9 miles off I-40 on Pullman Road)

Typical Sorting Rules and Pen Configuration
Books open at 8am, youth need to be entered by 8:30am and start at 9am. Open and #9 classes run on a 60 second clock, #7 and #3 classes run on a 75 second clock. Youth classes will run on 5 numbered cows and 1 trash cow with a 75 second clock. Negative Coggins required.
